Donovan Williams has quite a sporting story - from College Football with the University of Connecticut to the Hendrick Sports NASCAR team, and his heroic involvement in a dramatic incident in the spring of 2026 which almost certainly saved the life of a Fox Sports reporter.
After meeting Donovan at the Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialists annual summit in North Carolina, Sport Cares set up an exclusive trans-Atlantic interview with Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE - another man who has pursued a successful and eventful post-playing journey to become CEO of the Leeds Rhinos Super League team.
We've divided the interview into two parts - this section focuses on Donovan's unusual career transition from football to NASCAR. Check out the other part, exploring the roots of his career and values, on the Environment and Community page in the Social section.
